AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) held its 15th General Body Meeting with all its Glitz & Glory at

Plaza on 28th June 2009 in Cochin.The Glamourous Cine-Stars of the Silver Screen numbering more than 260 attended the fraternity meeting for the same cause.
The agenda of the meeting was to introduce newly elected members to the panel and allot their respective designations. General Body members for the period 2009-2012 were being unanimously elected and the new elected members sworn in on the occasion. The meeting was presided over by Veteran Actor Innocent and the Ace Super-star Mohanlal who were unanimously elected as the President and General Secretary respectively.
Super-star Dileep was being felicitated by the member’s of AMMA for his immense contribution & behemoth success brought to the organization by making the Block-Buster Movie “Twenty20”. “Twenty20” was a record breaking hit featuring most of the association members & successfully passed the 151 days mark. And personalities like Lal from Lal Creations, Ganesh, & Mohanlal were being honoured at the Occasion for the excellence in their respective fields.
The delectation of the occasion was faded when the desolating news of Director “Lohitadas” demise struck. A remarkable Director of Malayalam Film Industry who provided ground-breaking hits of all times passed away. It was a great loss to the Industry, members carried out a one minute silent prayer and super-star’s like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram, Innocent, Jagadeesh expressed their heart felt Condolence.
And as a part of the meeting three more members were added to the existing list of “Kaineettam Members”. (A program of AMMA providing financial assistance to the ailing artists of the league)
The meeting concluded with Vote of Thanks from the President of the Committee Mr. Innocent and the assemblage departed with a heavy heart for paying homage to Late Lohitadas.
