Ajith Kollam (7 April 1962 – 5 April 2018) was an Indian film actor, who predominantly appeared in Malayalam cinema. He was undergoing treatment for stomach ailments at a private hospital at Kochi. He breathed his last at 3:40 am early morning. His body has been taken to his native land of Kollam and would be cremated at Kollam Kadapakada Crematorium by 6:00 in the evening. His body is to be kept at his house for public viewing.
Ajith is best known for his villainous roles in movies of 90's and has acted in over 500 movies. He kept his screen presence in not only Malayalam movies but also in the movies of Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
He started off his career with director Padmarajan's 1983 movie, Paranu Paranu Paranu as a villain character. The films Olympian Anthony Adam, Prajapathi, Aaram Thamburan, Balettan, Number 20 Madras Mail and many more showcased him as a villain character. His last film was the 2012 release Ivan Ardhanaari.
He has also directed two movies. His first directorial was Calling Bell and the second was Pakal Pole. These two films brought out the best of the story which was written by Kollam Ajith himself.
He had also proved his television presence through Doordarshan's programme named Kairali Vilasam Lodge and many other television programmes like Paavakoothe, Vajram, Devimahatmyam, Kadamatathe Kathanar, Swami Ayappan.
He is the son of Padmanabhan and Saraswathi. His father was a native of Kollam and also a railway station master at Kollam. Being born and brought up at Kollam, the name Kollam Ajith came to him. He entered into the field of entertainment under the guidance of Kambisseri Karunakaran and his club.
He is survived by his wife Prameela and his children Gayathri and Sreehari.

Malayalam actor and a great theatre personality, took his last breath today at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Reportedly, the 67 year old actor was unwell for a couple of years and succumbed to age-related illness. It’s even said that he was under treatment for Alzheimer's disease.
Actor and theatre personality Sasi Kalinga passed away at a private hospital in Kozhikode on Tuesday morning. He was 59.
