Interview With Stars

One of the bold actresses of Mollywood, Aparna Gopinath started her career with the movie 'ABCD: American Born Confused Desi (2013)'. Though appeared in very few films, Aparna has already established her name in the industry. Aparna is basically a theatre artist. Her performance as 'Anjali' in the movie Munnariyippu (2014) was highly acclaimed.

Personal Life

She was born to a Malayali family who were settled in Chennai.

Early Life

Before coming into the movies, Aparna was a theater artist and a contemporary dancer. She associated herself with the avant-garde theatre movement of Chennai, Tamil Nadu called ‘Koothu-P-Pattarai’.

She had acted in many plays like ‘Six Characters in Search of an Author’, ‘Woyzeck’, ‘Moonshine’, ‘Sky Toffee’, ‘Sangadi Arinjo’ (based on seven short stories of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer) and several Shakespearean plays.

Being a dancer, she never left out the chance to perform, learn or teach dance. She attended many workshops at Chennai and Kochi, where she not only learned but also taught others Western style of dancing especially Ballroom and Latin.

Aparna acted in the following movies: ABCD: American Born Confused Desi (2013), Bicycle Thieves (2013), Mannar Mathai Speaking 2 (2014), Happy Journey (2014), Gangster (2014), Munnariyippu (2014), Onnam Loka Mahayudham (2015), Charlie (2015), School Bus (2016), Sakhavu (2017) and Mazhayathu (filming)
