END OF AN ERA: ACTOR INNOCENT PASSED AWAY

He is dominated as president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA: 2000-2018). He achieved several awards including state film awards, filmfare awards and others. By the support of Left Democratic Party (LDF) he figured his own mark in Lok sabha elections (2014) as an independent candidate from Chalakkudy constituency.

In 1972, he began his film career with the movie ‘Nrityashala’. His figuration and the
character eccentricity are unique attribution in Malayalam film industry and his diction wildly caught
the attention of Malalayalam audience. He is the versatile actor, who prevailed on all the troubles
with successful career and marked his own identity in film industry. He is famous in several roles as
an actor, producer, Politian as well as writer. ‘Laughter in Cancer ward’ (Cancer Wardile Chiri) is the
portrait of his experience meanwhile the treatment of throat cancer. He has written books, the
accounts of his memories and experiences. As he was an enthusiastic in acting profession, the
audience acknowledged his serious and comedy roles. He died on Mrach 26, 2023. ‘Pachuvum
Athbhuthavilakkum’ is the final film with his flair screened out soon.
